    thanks for the great list.

I'd also recommend the helpful Twitter web features done with Greasemonkey for Firefox.

Here's a list, sorted by most popular:

And in particularly recommend this new one I just loaded that lets you view all bios at a glance:

Awesome, what a complete compilation of twitter tools. Thanks~~
  • Kevin Sablan · 11 months ago
Thanks for gathering the list. The number of times a site has been bookmarked is sometimes as good a measure of "most popular" as some other popular metrics.

I'm honoured to find Twitdom as a part of this list.

    Thanks! :-)

Guys, thank you for your kind words. You might also be interested in this analysis tool that Benedikt created called Twitter Friends and my post about it here:

Excellent idea of using del.icio.us as the gauge for popularity. You are probably very very close to reality.
  • James Broadfoot · 11 months ago
    Wow, nice compilation...very useful, thanks.

I hadn't ever really thought about running through Delicious to find new apps. Looks like it was definitely beneficial. Now I've got to start running down the list and checking out all of these apps. I know we've profiled a few of them on Microblink.

I think it would be interesting to see how these apps cross reference with all of the apps posted on Twitter yesterday with the hashtag #twitapptues. Anyone up to that task?

Great list! I use quite a few of these daily. Just shocked http://www.StockTwits.com is not on this. They are getting so much play on Wall Street Journal, FT and others. A real Twitter web app for the financial peeps - in real time. Use stock symbols and hashtags $$

Nice list. We have been profiling all such popular twitter apps at twi5.com.

Twitter gets all the more exciting with these apps created by ever enthusiastic developers who usually aren't bothered about monetization! It's all for the love of fellow tweeps :D

Two tools that I use that I noticed were not on the list are:

Tweetwhatyoueat - http://www.tweetwhatyoueat.com - Twitter-based food diary with a crowd-sourced calorie database. I find this site super simple and powerful, plus Tweetwhatyoueat auto-fills uncaloried foods in my diary automatically which means I don't have to look up the calorie value.

Tweetwhatyouspend - http://www.tweetwhatyouspend.com - Simple Twitter-based cash tracker. In their own words, "Tweetwhatyouspend answers the question, 'what happens to my money between trips to the ATM?'"

Great write-up, I'd check out these tools as well for your next update.

Is it just me? It must be. Is anyone else reminded of the fable about The Emperor's New Clothes every time someone starts talking about Twitter?
  • Martin Dudek · 11 months ago
Every bet, soon http://twopular.com will be among them or not
  • Joan Weytze · 11 months ago
Thanks! A useful list. I should point out that some of the applications cited are now defunct (picky, picky, picky). ;D
  • dahowlett · 11 months ago
Where did the numbers in brackets after the apps names come from? They can't be right.
  • dahowlett · 11 months ago
oh - hang on - bookmarked at delicious...right...
